Case Work—Latest Press and Reviews

A number of articles have appeared in both local and national outlets following the recent opening of Case Work: Studies in Form, Space and Construction, at the Denver Art Museum.

Writing in Wallpaper*, John Gendall relates part of his conversation with Brad Cloepfil: “In his mind, buildings ought to be more about ideas than they are about image and form. To this end, his firm has made great creative use of physical models…to help the architect crystallize a building's ultimate design.”

Jim Carr notes in his article for the Denver Business Journal that “It's an effective approach: The best idea or solution is seldom achieved following straight line. By working in media not usually associated with architectural design, ideas stay fluid, and unexpected solutions can appear.” In his piece for Cultured Magazine, Ted Loos quotes Cloepfil on the role of these conceptual works in his design process: “They’re more about pursuing ideas that are free from architecture. They’re not representational.”
The exhibition is currently on display until April 17th, and will travel to the Portland Art Museum in June of this year.
