Clyfford Still Museum 3D Projection Mapping by LEGWORK

View project
Jan 30, 2012

In late 2011, Denver-based design studio LEGWORK was asked to develop a full-scale projection mapping and motion graphics for the opening of the Clyfford Still Museum. Presented during the museum's inaugural First Light gala, the looped, three-minute piece covered the entire south façade of the museum, and plays upon the materials, massing and solidity of the building to create stunning visual effects.

Integrating abstract geometries and 3-dimensional transformations with footage shot within the adjacent galleries, the video combines the elemental character of the architecture with Still's words, his work and glimpses of the spaces within.
