Brad Cloepfil
is an American architect and founder of Allied Works Architecture. His work draws inspiration from the landscape and monumental infrastructure of the West. His unique voice and critical position was first established with the Sitings Project, and has carried through to the firm's 2011 book, Allied Works Architecture Brad Cloepfil: Occupation. Today, Allied Works designs and realizes significant cultural projects, new institutions, creative workplaces and private residences across the U.S. and internationally. Cloepfil lives in Portland, Oregon and New York City.
Gus Van Sant
is an American director, screenwriter, painter, photographer, musician, and author. Beginning with Mala Noche and Drugstore Cowboy in the 1980’s, Van Sant helped revitalize American independent film. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Achievement in Directing for his 1997 film Good Will Hunting and his 2008 film Milk, and won the Palme d'Or at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival for his film Elephant. He lives in Portland, Oregon
