ALLIED WORKS/BALMORI/BURO HAPPOLD selected as finalists to consult on the regeneration and redevelopment of a major urban district in Shenzhen, China.

In November, it was announced that Allied Works, in collaboration with Balmori Associates and Buro Happold, has been shortlisted for a competition to re-envision the Sungang-Qingshuihe areas of the Luohu District in central Shenzhen. As part of the competition, the team is to propose a comprehensive masterplan for architecture and landscape design, as well as infrastructure and economic development.
Organized by the People's Government of Luohu District and Urban Planning, Land and Resources Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, the team was one of ten sponsored to proceed to the next stage from a pool of over 80 applicants. Initial ideas and concepts are due in December with the final competition stage proceeding early next year.
